DLF Brotherhood Orientation

I
Each newly joined member begins their initiation process or The Brotherhood Orientation.   The purpose of Brotherhood Orientation is to create personal educational development for each member to have an opportunity to learn and experience how to be a fraternal brother and maintain the spirit of Brotherhood.

I

We aim to have the desire of improving ourselves, but also cultivate positive representation of Brotherhood within our community.  We use fully to practice the principles of Love, Honor, and Trust in all we do everyday.

I

In order to becoming a fraternal brother of DLF, you should take a careful consideration whether you can lead a true fraternal life.  You would adopt the responsibilities and duties of membership set by Deaf Leather Fraternity.  This shall requires on your part for being lifetime commitment with DLF.

INITIATION PROCESS

I
The term “Pledge” is a name given to new member who begin their initiation process before they become full fraternal brother.  A pledge is a member who is an uneducated equal, meaning he would be treated with the same respect as our fraternal brother until he learns more about the Deaf Leather Fraternity.  We teach the pledges how to be a fraternal brother, leader and disclipine.  While we believe in accountability, we do not to embarrass or hurt each other.

Our initiation is different to what contrary one might perceive and it is NOT same as hazing.  The purpose of the initiation is to provide an experiential process, developing discipline of positive characters – “the mind, body and spirit” and attaining deeper sense of belonging with the Brotherhood.    Our initiation activities are educational, plentiful and exciting.

All new members are required to pass the qualification process, which it may take between one (1) month and up to two (2) years and enrollment fee must be paid in full.  These are important steps in becoming a full fraternal brother.
